Chalazion-an eyelid disease..

This is a type of disease that affects the eyelid. This disease is a closed sac having a distinct membrane spitted on the neighbor tissue which is a cyst present in the eyelid. It is caused by the affection of vascular tissues due to harmful stimuli such as pathogens called inflammation of a blocked special kind of sebaceous glands at the rim of the eyelids which is said to be Meibomian gland. This disease is also known asmeibomian gland lipogranuloma. It differs from the styes which is an infection at the base of the eye lashes. They are subacute, nontender, and usually painless nodules. This disease will become inflame acutely inside the eyelid more than the eyelid margin. The treatment will take months to heal fully and lot of years for complete healing. The eyelid affected by chalazion is shown in the figure. The symptoms of this disease are Eyelid tenderness, Sensitivity to light, increased tearing, Heaviness of the eyelid.
