Consumer protection laws for you...

Consumer court is a place where justice is given to all consumers who are affected by the sellers or traders. Consumer court protects the rights of a consumer and gives additional protection to the weak people. Many people are not aware of consumer laws and this leads to seller taking advantage on selling unfair products. Adulteration is also a major consumer complaint and if proved this can give a major punishment to the sellers or traders. In India, there is district level, state level and national level courts are there to enhance and nourish the consumer welfare. There are also self regulating business units to direct people to know about consumer complaint. Many non-government organizations are there to look after consumer complaint for the weak. The consumer court forum has begun in this decade to enhance and impart consumer laws to the people. There is wide range of issues that deals with consumer protection laws. They are debt repairs, service and sales contracts, pricing, credit repair, personal loans and bankruptcy etc. In US there are many consumer protection laws are there to protect the right of a consumer. They are Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Truth in Lending Act, FCRA etc. These acts are related to the federal and state level regulations.
